We are currently working in partnership with a Housing Association based in the Midlands, who are recruiting for a Head of Rents on a permanent contract.
The start date is dependant on notice, and the salary on offer is between £65,072-£72,302. Office presence is required once per week, with the rest of the week working from home.
The ideal candidate will ideally be a Qualified Accountant, have excellent knowledge of rent legislation, and the ability to travel to addresses within the Group’s geography and attend conferences as required.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
* Be responsible for leading the Rents Team; providing direction, coaching and management to support direct reports with their objectives
* Providing a modern financial service for all rent charges and rent related areas for all tenures
* Planning, setting, monitoring and effectively managing relevant budgets for the team, in line with delegated authority guidelines and financial standing orders
* Support the Director of Rent and Service Charges to provide planned/scheduled and ad hoc updates, reports and training to Board, Committees, ET, SLT and operational levels in the business
* Promote innovation across the Group by developing and delivering initiatives to support this
Experience required:
* Extensive experience in managing complex rents products in a regulated environment
* Significant experience of leading a rents team managing complex accounts
* Demonstrable experience accounting in a large and complex organisation with substantial rent budgets, with an understanding of service charges
Skills, knowledge and expertise required:
* Detailed knowledge, experience and understanding of rent legislation for all tenures, including the Rent Standard and to include Rent Convergence
* Experience and knowledge of the legal and regulatory framework relevant to the role, including associated returns
* Well-developed business management skills and understanding of delivering an excellent customer-based service in a complex organisation with both social and commercial activities
* Detailed knowledge and understanding of Accounting Standards
