We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Process Development Technologist/ Process Development Technologist to join our New Product Development team at Lossie Seafoods, Arbroath. This role is ideal for someone with experience in food manufacturing, QA, or technical roles who is looking to broaden their scope and progress into a hands-on process development and NPD position.
You will play a key role in bringing new and improved products to market for leading customers, working from concept through to full-scale factory production. You will collaborate closely with Commercial, Technical, and Operations teams to ensure developments are right-first-time, scalable, efficient to produce, fully compliant, and aligned to customer and business requirements.

Key Responsibilities
* Progress NPD and process development briefs in collaboration with NPD, Commercial, Technical, and Operations teams.
* Own and maintain accurate Development Records and the NPD Tracker, including launches, amendments, samples, and customer documentation.
* Support background research, recipe development, and continuous product optimisation.
* Plan, organise, run, and report on factory trials, presenting clear outcomes and recommendations.
* Support and host customer factory trial visits and on-site development activity.
* Prepare, cook, and evaluate products to ensure they meet internal and customer quality standards.
* Support the development and maintenance of internal Product Quality Standards.
* Ensure Post-Launch Reviews are completed, actions tracked, and improvements delivered to agreed timelines.
* Maintain high standards within the NPD kitchen and manage ingredients and trial stock effectively.
* Proactively contribute new product ideas, concepts, and continuous improvement initiatives.
About You
This role would suit an ambitious technologist, technical or operational professional who is ready to step up and take on broader responsibility within NPD environment.
You will ideally bring:
* Experience in Food Production, QA, Technical, or NPD within a food manufacturing environment.
* A genuine passion for food, innovation, and product quality.
* An awareness of food trends, ingredients, and evolving customer expectations.
* Strong organisation, attention to detail, and record-keeping skills.
* Confidence to communicate trial outcomes and recommendations clearly.
* The ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
* A proactive, hands-on approach with the confidence to take ownership and drive results.
* A solid understanding of food safety and legal compliance (Food Hygiene & HACCP desirable).
* Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office (experience with customer specification is an advantage).
