The Role:
As an Assistant Category Manager, you will have the drive and ambition to work within a dynamic, commercial function. The role of the Assistant Category Manager for Solar PV is to develop and deliver a market-leading product range to enable us to compete and maximize our share of the Solar PV market. You will be responsible for delivering commercial targets such as margin, revenue, terms improvements, and customer acquisition through strong supplier relationships, innovative proposition development, and execution via branches and sales teams.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Define and deliver a market-leading category strategy for Solar PV, including proposition, pricing, promotional plans, and range management.
2. Review weekly trading performance, identify opportunities or issues, and take appropriate actions.
3. Maintain regular contact with suppliers and internal stakeholders to support category and commercial team objectives.
4. Ensure optimal routes to market for each channel, working with supply chain teams to meet stock health objectives.
5. Build a strong presence in stores and Solar Hubs, managing stock levels with operational teams.
6. Develop close relationships with the Solar Sales Team to understand customer needs and support growth.
7. Collaborate with the Pricing team to manage selling prices aligned with strategy and market conditions.
8. Work with Marketing to create promotional plans that enhance sales and maintain margins.
9. Negotiate commercial terms with suppliers and ensure accurate reporting in Dealtrack.
10. Project manage key initiatives requiring a Commercial lead for propositions.
This is a hybrid role offering flexibility to work from home 2 days a week. You should be within commuting distance of our refurbished offices in Crick, Northamptonshire.

Skills and Competencies:
* Experience in Category, Buying, or Procurement roles
* Strong communication and negotiation skills
* Ability to work independently and proactively
* Proficiency with spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets)
* Motivated team player
* Experience within Solar Electric Ranges is preferable
Relevant backgrounds include roles in Buying, Procurement, Category Management, Commercial sectors, Building, Construction, Retail, FMCG, Manufacturing, or Mechanical industries.
