We have an exciting opportunity for a Locum Medical Oncology Consultant to join the Buckinghamshire Healthcare Trust. The post holder will be expected to work a total of 10 PAs per week. There will be no on‑call commitments on weekends or overnight.
This is a Fixed Term Temporary Locum Consultant post for 12 months.
The post holder is expected to provide a comprehensive oncology service at Stoke Mandeville Hospital, with possible cross‑site working at Wycombe Hospital, participating in clinics, MDT meetings and contributing to the Acute Oncology Service through AOS consultant ward rounds.
Applicants should be on the GMC Specialist Register. It is Trust policy that, without CCT, an offer as Locum Consultant can be given for a 6‑month fixed‑term contract, with a possibility of being extended for a further 6 months, but this cannot exceed 12 months in total.
The post holder will undertake 2 AOS consultant ward rounds per week.
The post holder will specialise in urology and breast.
Each 3‑hour clinic has 1 new and 6 follow‑up patients.
The post holder is likely to see 200 new patients per annum.

The post holder will help recruit patients into clinical trials.
The post holder will be fully supported by an established Clinical Trials Unit consisting of trials nurses and data managers.
There will be opportunity to participate in medical student teaching and supervision of junior doctors.
The post holder will participate in clinical governance activities including clinical audit, risk management and quality improvement activities as required by the Trust and external accrediting bodies.
Annual appraisal and job plan review will be essential for the successful candidate. 1.5 SPAs will be allocated for activities (e.g. CPD) required for re‑validation.
The post holder may be required to undertake other duties appropriate for a consultant oncologist not otherwise specified.
