Job Description
1. Warehouse Operations
2. Lead daily warehouse operations using Advanced WMS warehouse documents and task queues.
3. Ensure no inbound, outbound, or internal movements occur outside Dynamics WMS.
4. Plan labour and prioritisation around:
5. Warehouse shipments
6. Cut‑off times
7. Directed picking and replenishment demand
8. Maintain a safe, efficient, and well‑organised warehouse environment.
Inbound Processing: Receipts & Directed Put‑Away
9. Manage inbound deliveries using Warehouse Receipts.
10. Ensure:
11. All deliveries are counted, scanned, and registered correctly
12. Exceptions (damaged/short deliveries) are handled through approved WMS processes
13. Oversee directed put‑away, ensuring:
14. Stock is placed only in system‑assigned bins
15. Bin rules, capacities, and zoning are respected
16. Ensure inventory is unavailable for picking until receipt and put‑away is fully completed and posted.
Bin, Zone & Warehouse Structure Ownership
17. Own and maintain the warehouse location, zone, and bin structure in Business Central.
18. Ensure bin setup supports:
19. Directed put‑away logic
20. Optimal pick routes
21. Safe and compliant storage
22. Optimise bin layouts for:
23. Fast‑moving items
24. Bulk vs pick‑face separation
25. Congestion and travel reduction
26. Maintain discipline to avoid mixed or incorrect bin content.
Directed Replenishment
27. Ensure picking bins are replenished using WMS‑led replenishment tasks.
28. Monitor min/max levels and forward pick availability.
29. Coordinate replenishment activity to support picking waves and despatch cut‑offs.
30. Prevent picker downtime caused by poor bin availability or configuration.
Final Stage Processes
31. Ensure all assembly and paint line operations meet defined quality specifications, minimising defects, rework, and delays to customer delivery.
32. Monitor and manage performance against agreed KPIs, including throughput, right‑first‑time output, rework levels, and on‑time despatch.
33. Identify process constraints or inefficiencies across assembly and finishing stages and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance flow and productivity.
Outbound Fulfilment: Directed Pick, Pack & Ship
34. Control all outbound activity through:
35. Warehouse Picks (directed pick)
36. Warehouse Shipments
37. Ensure:
38. Picks are completed accurately against system instructions
39. Lot/serial tracking (where applicable) is fully complied with
40. Exceptions are resolved using approved WMS processes
41. Oversee packing and shipment confirmation to ensure:
42. Correct goods are packed to the correct shipment
43. Shipments are only posted once physically dispatched
44. Coordinate carrier handover so physical despatch matches system status.
Inventory Accuracy, Cycle Counts & Audit
45. Maintain real‑time inventory accuracy through strict system discipline.
46. Lead WMS‑based inventory controls including:
47. Cycle counting
48. Bin counts
49. Directed counts (where configured)
50. Investigate discrepancies using:
51. Warehouse entries
52. Bin contents
53. Item ledger entries
54. Ensure stock adjustments are controlled, approved, and fully documented.
55. Support year‑end stock take and external audit requirements.
Dynamics WMS System Ownership
56. Act as operational owner for Advanced WMS usage within the warehouse.
57. Ensure all warehouse SOPs align 1:1 with Dynamics WMS transactions.
58. Work with IT / ERP support to:
59. Raise and resolve WMS issues
60. Participate in UAT for warehouse changes
61. Improve configuration, reporting, and efficiency
62. Champion a strict "system first, no workarounds" culture.
Leadership & Team Development
63. Lead, coach, and develop warehouse supervisors and operatives.
64. Ensure all staff are trained and competent in:
65. Directed put‑away and directed picking
66. Correct registration and posting steps
67. Exception handling
68. Health & safety procedures
69. Manage performance, rotas, attendance, and conduct in line with HR policies.
