Job overview
Are you keen to develop a career in a service that is crucial to supporting others?
Do you have experience working within mental health in the community setting?
Be the voice that makes the first call count! Join us in transforming how families get support from the very start!
We are currently seeking a Senior Support Worker to join our CAMHS on a full time basis. With new funding from our commissioners, we’re enhancing how we support families. Main duties of the job
* Answer and manage incoming calls from young people, parents/carers, schools, GPs, and partner agencies.
* Conduct structured telephone screening using standardised tools and local SPA protocols.
* Identify risk indicators (e.g. self-harm, safeguarding, crisis presentation) and elevate appropriately to clinical staff or duty clinicians.
* Gather and record relevant clinical, social, and contextual information accurately.
* Offer emotional support, guidance, and reassurance to callers in distress.
* Signpost to appropriate community or digital resources when CAMHS input is not indicated.
* Recognise indicators of immediate risk to self or others and follow safeguarding and crisis escalation protocols.
