Finance Manager at Heales Medical (onsite)

Heales Medical is growing, and we’re looking for motivated Finance Manager to join our Hitchin team. We work with a wide range of public and private organisations- including NHS trusts, local authorities, national companies and specialist industries- delivering high-quality, evidence-based clinical services. We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Finance Manager to join our team and take ownership of end-to-end finance operations.

This is a full 360 finance role, combining management accounting, group reporting, forecasting, balance sheet control, payroll oversight, and strategic business partnering with amazing chances to grow within the business.

You will work closely with SMT, providing high-quality financial insight, reporting, and analysis to support decision-making across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

As Finance Manager, you will be responsible for:

* Preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts and supporting group reporting requirements

* Delivering detailed Profit & Loss analysis, variance reporting, forecasting, and performance commentary

* Completing balance sheet reconciliations and ensuring strong financial controls

* Producing sales and profitability reporting by customer and service line

* Posting monthly journals, accruals, and adjustments using accounting systems

* Supporting and overseeing junior finance staff, ensuring deadlines and accuracy are maintained

* Managing and coordinating payroll processes and resolving payroll-related queries

* Liaising with external stakeholders regarding payments, reconciliations, and account queries

* Supporting audits, compliance, and year-end processes, including documentation and reporting schedules

* Managing inter-company reconciliations and ensuring accurate group-level reporting

* Building strong relationships with managers across the business and providing finance support

* Providing regular financial insight and reporting to Directors and senior leadership

* Supporting budgeting, strategic planning, and financial performance improvement initiatives


About You:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

* Proven experience in a Finance Manager or similar end-to-end finance role

* Strong management accounting background and ability to meet tight reporting deadlines

* Confidence in producing insightful analysis, forecasting, and reporting for senior stakeholders

* Solid balance sheet and reconciliation knowledge, with excellent attention to detail

* Experience supporting audits and year-end processes

* Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally

* Ability to manage priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment

* Experience using accounting systems and Excel to a high standard Part-qualified or qualified (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) is beneficial, but not essential depending on experience.
