Hourly Paid Musical Theatre Lecturer – Pianist
The School of Performance, Music and Media is looking for a talented individual to join their dynamic team.
Responsibilities
* Musical Theatre Skills: strong skills with a focus on musical direction and singing technique.
* Read and sight‑read sheet music and play piano to a high standard.
* Teach music theory and ensemble vocals.
* Rehearse and perform instrumental parts in musical works.
* Lead and work with other musicians.
* Break down full musical theatre scores and teach constituent parts to students.
* Support evening performances and external events during busy show periods.
* Deliver personal tutoring, target setting, lesson planning, delivery and assessment to maximise learner progress.
Qualifications
* Experience delivering music theory and ensemble vocals.
* Ability to read and sight‑read sheet music and play piano.
* Experience rehearsing and performing instrumental parts in musical works is desirable.
* Ability to lead musicians.
* Teaching qualification desirable but not essential (training to encourage achievement of qualification provided).
Schedule
Hourly paid for approximately 12 hours per week based at the Watford Campus.
