Our client is a successful and rapidly expanding IT and Technology Services company with a growing presence across the UK. They are currently looking for a dynamic and commercially driven Chief Operating Officer to join their senior leadership team at their head office in Hertfordshire. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading operational strategy, optimising systems and processes, and ensuring seamless service delivery as the business continues to grow through organic expansion and acquisition.
Reporting to the CEO and Founder, you will bring a blend of strategic thinking and operational excellence, with a strong understanding of the tech sector and how to scale service-led businesses. You'll be pivotal in ensuring business functions are aligned, agile, and able to respond to growth opportunities. This is a key leadership position with the opportunity to shape the company's future and play a vital role in maintaining its high-performance culture.
The role:
* Be a key member of the senior leadership team, developing and implementing operational strategies to drive sustainable growth across existing and emerging markets
* Take overall responsibility for day-to-day operations, including service delivery, business performance, project execution, and cross-functional collaboration
* Lead, inspire and develop high-performing teams across operations, service, HR, and delivery functions, building on a culture that has already earned several company awards
* Identify and implement best-in-class systems, tools, and processes to improve operational efficiency and service excellence
* Work closely with the CEO and other leaders to align business goals, support strategic initiatives and manage transformation and change
* Oversee the successful onboarding of new services, technologies or acquired businesses, ensuring integration and scalability
* Establish and maintain key operational KPIs to drive performance, productivity, and quality standards
* Act as a key liaison between departments to ensure cohesion, consistent communication, and rapid resolution of operational challenges.
Skills and experience required:
* Proven experience in a senior operations leadership role within a technology, IT services, or SaaS-driven environment
* Strong understanding of scaling operational functions in high-growth or fast-paced businesses
* Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategies that improve service delivery, customer satisfaction, and operational resilience
* Solid experience managing and aligning cross-functional teams, driving a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement
* A commercial and analytical mindset, with the ability to make data-driven decisions that balance cost, efficiency, and quality
* Comfortable navigating change, complexity, and ambiguity, with a proactive and solutions-focused approach
* Experience working alongside finance, product, and technology teams to implement business-wide improvements
* Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with a passion for mentoring and developing others.
