Northwood HQ Job Summary UK Strategic Command (UKStratCom) is one of Defence’s four Commands. As Defence’s integrator, it brings together its subordinate organisations of Defence Intelligence, Headquarters Higher Level Budget (HQ HLB), Defence Digital, Defence Medical Services, Defence Support, operational command and oversight through the Permanent Joint Headquarters, Special Forces and Support to the Integrated Global Defence Network (IGDN). In addition, it is responsible for ensuring that the five warfighting domains of maritime, air, land, cyber and space are integrated which gives UKStratCom a pan-Defence role. The UKStratCom Headquarters’ staff provide the necessary strategy, planning, resource and capability oversight, governance and assurance support to the Commander. Job Description The Performance and Risk Team sit at the heart of UKStratCom Headquarters Strategic Centre, which is lead by 1* Deputy Director Plans and Portfolio Management. The team is responsible for setting clear Performance and Risk Management direction and guidance for all Higher Level Budgets (HLB) units within UKStratCom. The team organise and facilitate the 4* Performance and Risk board within the HQ, to support the Holding to Account process. They are responsible for collating and analysing performance and risk data from each HLB area, to provide clear and concise reporting for UKStratCom senior leaders and MOD Head Office. The role within Performance and Risk Team will support in collating inputs and producing documentation. It should ensure that templates and guidance are produced and kept current and accurate. Person specification Communications – Be the main point of contact for drafting and distributing key communications, direction, and standards. This responsibility includes effective stakeholder engagement across all teams (from Head Office through to individual business units). Maintenance and upkeep of artefacts – Management of all distribution lists, Multiuser email accounts and maintain templates to support all reporting requirements. The successful candidate will be expected to remain up to date with all personnel changes both within UKStratCom and across the wider MOD in relation to each teams’ activities. Where possible suggesting improvements such as automation to improve ways of working. SharePoint – Ownership of the SharePoint site. This will include responsibility for maintaining and updating content in line with departmental guidance. The post holder will successfully manage the team site, including managing access permissions and labelling documents appropriately. Essential You will have a good level of proficiency in Microsoft Office O365 applications such as Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Outlook. You should be able to suggest continuous improvement for the team’s ways of working (e.g. IT solutions and automation) Desirable Strong communicator: Experience of communicating with stakeholders is desirable, or a suitable demonstration of an ability to draft clear, concise and engaging communications.
