Security Design Engineer – Asset Intelligence
Location: Warrington
What you will be doing:
An opportunity has arisen for a Security Design Engineer to join Galliford Try within our Asset Intelligence Business.
Ideally, you will be based in or around Warrington.
1. Lead site visits with the Head of Design or team members and act as the point of contact for subcontract designers.
2. Develop electronic security specifications following site visits.
3. Coordinate with subcontractor design teams to refine scope of works.
4. Check subcontractor’s price and specifications for completeness and accuracy.
5. Manage Tender TQ process and register.
6. Assist in producing technical documentation for tenders.
7. Ensure security procedures are followed on site and in the office.
8. Support documentation for security accreditation.
9. Understand client requirements through specifications and site visits, proposing suitable solutions.
10. Work with design and delivery teams to ensure designs are value-engineered, compliant, and secure.
11. Promote innovation and cost-effectiveness in design activities.
12. Provide technical input into subcontract orders for electronic and physical security systems.
13. Produce design documents like layouts, specifications, schedules, and network architecture.
14. Review physical design details and contribute to design management plans and quality deliverables.
15. Manage design changes and scope control.
16. Coordinate handover to construction and commissioning teams.
About You:
* Experience with integrated security systems (Access Control, CCTV, alarms, intercoms).
* Knowledge of system integration with ARC and RVRC management systems.
* Experience with physical security products and their integration.
* Experience with Thames Water or water industry preferred.
* Proficiency with AMTECH software.
* Knowledge of security equipment innovations.
* Experience in producing URS and FDS documents.
* Understanding of CDM regulations and temporary works.
* Industry qualification (ONC/HNC/NVQ or equivalent).
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office; AutoCAD is a plus.
* Professional, organized, and ethical approach.
* Ability to influence and build relationships at all levels.
* Customer-focused and adaptable to fast-paced environments.
