I have been retained by a well-established main contractor who operate within the Residential, Commercial and Educational sectors. They are actively looking for a Technical Manager to join their growing team. The role includes primary responsibility for design management and co-ordination of all technical aspects of projects from planning approval through to project completion. Duties will include reviewing design compliance, design eiciency, buildability and developing value engineering opportunities with the commercial and operation teams. Responsibilities: * Managing external design consultants and specialist subcontractors with Design * Responsibilities, ensuring delivery against the brief within set timescales and budget * Reviewing consultant and specialist designs to include the viability of o-site production and alternative methods of construction * Assisting with the appointment of external consultants and manage their performance * Leading on the production and management of scopes of works, appointment documents, technical programmes, collateral warranties, references and fee proposals * Assist with developing project specific contractors proposals * Chair Design Team meetings and workshops to ensure consultant designs are fully co-ordinated and deliver efficient solutions across the board. * Co-ordinate and manage information required to discharge planning conditions, liaise with design team to collate submission packs * Co-ordinate and manage information required to discharge building regulation and warranty provider conditions * Co-ordinate and manage any party wall project specific agreements The candidate – key requirements * Degree / Higher Diploma qualification in Architecture / Engineering or equivalent, minimum 5 years post qualification experience * High rise experience in the design and detailing of residential schemes, previous developer or design build main contractor experience required * A strong knowledge and understanding of the latest building regulations and standards * Ability to co-ordinate and deliver demanding design programs * Excellent communication skills
