Job Title: SEND HI Support Worker (CSW) – Multiple Vacancies
Salary: £12,594 – £13,394 pro rata (FTE £30,150 – £32,066) – 18 hours
£20,990 – £22,234 (FTE £30,150 – £32,066) – 30 hours
Location: Multiple locations
Hours & Weeks per Year: 18 and 30 hours available / 38 weeks
We at Kirklees College are looking for dedicated CSWs to join the SEND Department. The role involves providing high‑quality support across the college, working closely with the SENDCO to ensure appropriate plans and strategies are in place to support students from school transitions through to a positive destination.
Responsibilities
* Provide interventions identified from available data to support student progression and well‑being.
* Oversee the EHCP process, including annual reviews and ensuring compliance with the SEND Code of Practice.
* Collaborate with teachers, parents and external agencies to deliver a holistic support package.
* Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of student progress and interventions.
* Promote safeguarding and welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
* Participate in staff development, mentoring and continuous professional learning.
Qualifications & Experience
* Minimum Level 2 qualification in literacy and numeracy (e.g., GCSE English and Maths at grade A*‑C).
* Minimum Level 3 HI qualification or actively working towards one; a relevant HE degree is desirable.
* Previous experience working with SEND students in an educational setting.
* In‑depth knowledge of EHCPs, the SEND Code of Practice and support strategies.
* Strong judgement and initiative in complex situations, leading to successful outcomes.
