What you’ll be doing
1. Designing and implementing scalable data solutions that meet enterprise needs.
2. Translating complex business requirements into high-performing data systems.
3. Supporting best practices in data governance, security and architecture.
4. Building and optimising pipelines across cloud and on-premise environments.
5. Collaborating with stakeholders, engineers, and analysts to deliver integrated solutions.
6. Ensuring consistency across transactional and analytical data systems.
7. Contributing to the development of data lakes, data warehouses, and distributed storage environments.
8. Mentoring junior engineers, embedding best practice across the team.
What we’re looking for
9. 5+ years’ experience in Data Engineering, with strong expertise in Azure data services and/or Microsoft Fabric.
10. Proven track record designing scalable platforms and managing large cloud-based ecosystems.
11. Proficiency in Python, PySpark, SQL, NoSQL and frameworks such as Databricks.
12. Solid experience with ETL/ELT design, orchestration and optimisation.
13. Knowledge of data governance, privacy regulations, and security best practices.
14. Strong experience integrating relational, NoSQL, and streaming data sources.
15. Competence in CI/CD pipelines and Git-based workflows.
16. Experience with modern architectures including data mesh, event-driven processing, and streaming platforms (Kafka/Event Hub).
17. Excellent stakeholder communication skills.
18. A passion for mentoring and embedding engineering best practice.
