The ideal candidate will be a hands-on supervising foreman capable of taking charge as required, reporting to the Workshop Manager.
We are seeking a skilled professional to manage works flows and quality of maintenance & repairs undertaken, providing technical advice, guidance and assistance to workshop staff members.
Key responsibilities include ensuring all planned and unplanned maintenance events are carried out to the required standards, managing works flows and quality of maintenance & repairs undertaken, and providing support regarding legal preparation and presentation of fleet along with vehicle movement.
Additionally, the successful candidate will work alongside the Workshop Manager to ensure efficient turnaround times for servicing and maintenance, including organising warranty repairs, and maintain Garage equipment and carry out planned reviews.
Other duties may include utilising effective people management skills to motivate, guide and develop staff, controlling contractors onsite ensuring compliance with safety procedures and site induction if needed, and assisting with vehicle breakdowns if required.
Required qualifications and skills include being a Qualified HGV mechanic or equivalent Qualification, holding a Category CE driving licence, being computer literate and proficient with Microsoft Office and other IT programmes, possessing good organisational and communication skills, and being a team player who is happy to assist and mentor other staff members.
Responsibilities:
* Ensure all planned and unplanned maintenance events are carried out to the required standards.

* Hands on approach to maintenance and servicing - of trucks and assorted trailers.
* Provides technical advice, guidance and assistance to workshop staff members.
* Provide support regarding legal preparation and presentation of fleet along with vehicle movement.
* Work alongside the Workshop Manager to ensure efficient turnaround times for servicing and maintenance including organising warranty repairs.
* Ensure the availability of vehicles in line with operational requirements.
* Optimise the management of stock and spare parts utilisation.
* Maintain Garage equipment and carry out planned reviews.
* Work alongside company managers, fostering excellent working relationships to aid in the management of all aspects of maintenance and service performance.
* Conduct audits on repairs and inspections carried out by service providers.
* Keep track of all maintenance costs.
* Ensure records are kept up to date recording all maintenance and service work undertaken.
* Operates within agreed KPI parameters.
