The Role We’re looking for a Senior QA Manager to own quality across the Foundation Health platform and lead our QA organisation as we scale. This role is accountable for quality strategy, UAT, release readiness and the ongoing development of our QA function. You’ll set direction, establish standards, and build a high-performing QA team, while staying close enough to Delivery to ensure quality outcomes and pragmatic decision-making. You’d need to be comfortable working onsite 3 days a week, in our office in Manchester City Centre. You’ll thrive in this role if you: Think about quality as a business outcome, not just a testing phase Proactively identify systemic risks and address root causes, not just symptoms Enjoy partnering closely with Engineering, Product, and Client teams at a senior level Can balance pragmatism with rigour in fast-moving, regulated environments Are comfortable setting strategy, building teams, and being accountable for outcomes What you will be doing Own quality end-to-end across the platform, from requirements through release readiness Define and evolve QA strategy, standards, tooling, and ways of working Oversee and lead client UAT, including scope, execution, and sign-off Lead, hire, and develop the QA team, planning capacity as the organisation grows Partner closely with Engineering, Product, and Client teams to manage risk and release confidence Oversee QA planning and prioritisation across releases and initiatives Guide the balance between manual, exploratory, and automated testing Maintain visibility of quality health through clear reporting and risk communication Step into hands-on testing or reviews where it adds the most value What we are looking for Essential experience 7 years in QA / software testing, including senior or leadership roles Proven experience owning quality end-to-end in a product-led engineering organisation Experience with QA on enterprise level products Experience leading client-facing UAT and release sign-off Strong understanding of testing web applications and APIs Experience defining QA standards, processes, and team structures Confident communicator of quality risk and release readiness to senior stakeholders Desirable experience Experience scaling or building QA teams or functions Exposure to test automation (Cypress or Playwright) and API testing (Postman) Experience defining quality metrics or health indicators Exposure to AI-driven systems or complex workflows Familiarity with agile delivery practices and cloud-based platforms (e.g. GCP)
