About the Role: Integrated Resource Teaching Assistant Required for – either specialist SEND Unit or Integrated Resource Provision. Required – as soon as possible We are looking to recruit additional staff to our already established team of support staff. Our teams are based across a number of schools in Wakefield and support the integration and inclusion of pupils with EHCPs. Successful candidates will work under a Teacher in Charge and other key staff to manage pupil needs and ensure that they can access learning, as well as deliver the provision set out in the EHCP. Working hours align with the school day, with occasional additional duties or events outside standard hours. This role covers an Inclusion Resource or SEND Unit based in the following schools: Newlands Primary School, Normanton Moorthorpe Primary School, South Elmsall Featherstone Academy, Featherstone St Wilfrid’s Academy, Featherstone Northfield Primary School, South Kirkby Methodist Primary School, Wakefield St Thomas a Beckett Academy, Wakefield (This is not an exhaustive list, with all WISENDSS povisions included). A commitment to supporting inclusion for our learners A positive, flexible and reflective approach A drive to develop your knowledge and understanding of SEND and inclusion A willingness to work as part of a team who strive for the best possible outcomes for our learners Essential requirements: We are looking for candidates with knowledge and experiences of: • Pupils with identified needs in relation to Speech, Language, Communication Needs, ASD, Communication and Interaction and/or Social, Emotional, Mental Health. • Working with children in education, or work places that may have built knowledge of supporting access to learning and development. • using their interpersonal skills and initiative to manage the roles and responsibilities in the workplace. • the importance of education and need to support pupils access the curriculum. • understanding the importance of making adjustments that help accessibility.
