A fantastic school in Leeds is looking for a General Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis supporting in KS1. This is a general Teaching Assistant role to start in September, continuing until the end of the academic year.
Key responsibilities of a Teaching Assistant:
1. To support the teacher in the delivery of the curriculum, preparing resources and setting up activities.
2. To support children in their learning, enabling them to reach their potential
3. To carry out group work and interventions directed by the class teacher
4. To provide extra support and differentiation for children with additional needs
5. To support the teacher with classroom management, following behaviour policies and promoting a positive learning environment
6. To communicate effectively with teachers, pupils and parents, developing strong professional relationships
Personal specification of Teaching Assistant:
7. Experience supporting primary aged pupils
8. Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent
9. A patient, flexible, and proactive approach
10. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
11. A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning
