Joining Great Bear as an Assistant Management Accountant at our Lutterworth depot, you will contribute to the overall success of the site. You will report directly to the site Senior Management Accountant responsible for delivering Management Information to the General Manager, Operations team, Finance, and the Board. Your responsibilities will include:
1. Producing daily, weekly, and monthly finance reports for review.
2. Preparing weekly costings for operations at our customer-focused sites.
3. Preparing Management Accounts, including posting journals.
4. Investigating and explaining variances in the Management Accounts.
5. Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
6. Supporting the production of the monthly review pack of financial and operational management information for discussions with customers.
7. Managing invoice and credit control processes and updating the Company cash forecast.
8. Reviewing supplier invoices against purchase orders and assisting in the authorization process.
9. Dealing with site suppliers, including self-billing subcontract hauliers weekly.
10. Assisting with the annual budget process and quarterly forecasting.
11. Collating and issuing internal reports.
12. Supporting the finance team with ad-hoc projects.
13. Providing filing and administrative support to the accounts team as required.
Qualifications and skills required include:
1. Part qualified Accountant (AAT, CIMA, ACCA, ACA).
2. Attention to detail and an analytical approach.
3. Strong Excel skills, comfortable with MS Word and PowerBI.
4. A questioning and enquiring approach with a desire to improve efficiency.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
6. Hardworking, flexible, and deadline-oriented.
7. Effective communication skills at all levels.
8. Ability to take on additional responsibility and progress towards a Management Accountant role.
9. Previous finance experience including journals, accruals, prepayments, depreciation, and income matching.
10. Experience in a similar industry is advantageous.
