External Boat Builder
Overview
We are currently seeking experienced External Boat Builders to join a leading marine engineering environment, working on high-quality vessels built for global use. This role would suit individuals with a strong eye for detail, who take pride in delivering precision work and enjoy being part of a multi-skilled team.
You will play a key role in ensuring vessels are completed to schedule, taking responsibility for the installation and assembly of various external components to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities
* Reading and interpreting technical drawings
* Assembly of steering systems
* Keel fittings
* Installation of skin fittings
* Deck gear and teak deck installation
* Installation of windows, portlights and hatches
* Drive chain propulsion system assembly
* Shaft fitting
* Lazarette fit-out
* Fitting of various fibreglass components
* Levelling boats
* Carrying out basic laminating tasks
Requirements
* Relevant City & Guilds (C&G) qualification or equivalent
* Ideally a minimum of 2 years’ experience within the marine industry
* Experience working with timber and/or GRP vessels
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship
* Ability to work to deadlines and as part of a team
