Job Description:
Role: The Nuclear Civil Engineering Expert will provide specialized technical expertise within the Nuclear Engineering department, ensuring projects meet high standards of quality, safety, and compliance in the UK. The role involves innovative civil engineering practices, academic contributions, and knowledge sharing within the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the design, analysis, and implementation of civil engineering solutions for nuclear projects, ensuring UK standards and regulations are met.
* Conduct research and develop new methodologies in nuclear civil engineering, including life extension and decommissioning of facilities.
* Coordinate with technical experts at the France headquarters for best practices and tools in civil engineering.
* Present findings at scientific conferences and seminars to enhance Egis's visibility in the UK nuclear sector.
* Collaborate with UK academic institutions as a guest lecturer or advisor, fostering industry-academic partnerships.
* Publish technical papers and contribute to the body of knowledge in nuclear civil engineering in the UK context.
* Mentor engineering staff, promoting continuous learning and professional growth.
* Stay updated on civil engineering advancements, regulations, and technologies relevant to the UK nuclear sector.
* Engage with regulatory bodies like the Office for Nuclear Regulation for project collaboration.
* Prepare and present technical reports, proposals, and presentations to diverse audiences.
Qualifications:
* PhD or Master’s in Civil, Structural, or Nuclear Engineering; Chartered Engineer status and ICE Fellowship preferred.
* Extensive experience in civil engineering within the UK nuclear sector or similar high-stakes industries.
* Deep knowledge of civil and structural engineering principles, seismic analysis, and UK regulatory compliance.
* Proven record of conference presentations and publications in academic journals.
* Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
* Commitment to mentorship and knowledge sharing.
