Electricity Distribution - Network Technician
An opportunity is available for a Technician based at Milton Keynes, preferably, or Northampton. The successful candidate will be accountable to the Team Manager for the construction, maintenance, and repair of the distribution network up to 33kV. Responsibilities include safety management, work planning, performance, and issuing safety documents, among other technician duties. The candidate will work as a Senior Authorised Person at voltages up to and including 33KV on both overhead and underground networks.
You are required to have GCSEs in English and Maths at grades A*-C/4-9 or Functional Skills Level 2 in both subjects. Additionally, you must hold a City & Guilds 2339 Level 2 or equivalent Level 2 qualification in Electrical Engineering. Depending on experience, initial appointment may be at a lower salary until relevant courses and training are completed. Evidence of qualifications will be required prior to appointment.

The Ideal Candidate
Must be able to work independently and as part of a team, make quick decisions, and have good communication skills. Flexibility, adaptability under pressure, and the ability to meet deadlines are essential. The role requires training as an SAP, mobility within the area, and living within 30 minutes of the depot. A full UK driver’s license is necessary; knowledge of wooden distribution power lines is desirable. The candidate must undertake a Level 3 City & Guilds 2339 if not already obtained. Interviews are scheduled for 20th or 21st August 2025. The role is subject to a DBS check and other vetting processes.
