We are seeking an experienced and forward‑thinking Technical Lead to lead the delivery of complex, multi‑system, multi‑vendor technical programmes across the organisation. This role will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of large‑scale technical initiatives, ensuring that infrastructure, integrations, platforms, and digital services are delivered to the highest standards of performance, security, and reliability. This role is critical to enabling the organisation's digital transformation journey, ensuring that core technical foundations are robust, scalable, and future‑ready. The role requires hybrid working, with a minimum of three days per week on site at Sherwood Forest Hospital.
Technical Delivery
* Lead the technical delivery of complex digital programmes, ensuring robust governance, clear reporting, and alignment with organisational strategy.
* Develop and maintain integrated technical programme plans, managing risks, issues, dependencies, and technical constraints.
* Ensure all technical workstreams adhere to architectural standards, cyber security requirements, and national frameworks.
Technical Assurance & Architecture
* Oversee technical design, ensuring solutions are scalable, secure, interoperable, and aligned with enterprise architecture.
* Lead technical assurance activities including design reviews, readiness assessments, and non‑functional testing.
* Ensure compliance with interoperability standards (FHIR, HL7, APIs), data standards, and cloud architecture principles.
Infrastructure, Platforms & Integration
* Oversee delivery of infrastructure upgrades, cloud platforms, network enhancements, and device deployments.
* Manage integration workstreams, ensuring seamless connectivity between systems and safe, reliable data flows.
* Lead technical readiness for go‑live, including performance testing, fail‑over planning, and disaster recovery validation.
Cyber Security & Information Governance
* Ensure all technical solutions meet DSPT, GDPR, and cyber security requirements.
* Work with the Cyber Security Lead to embed security‑by‑design principles and manage penetration testing, vulnerability remediation, and risk mitigation.
Supplier, Contract & Financial Management
* Manage technical suppliers, ensuring delivery against contractual obligations and service levels.
* Lead technical procurement activities, including specification development, evaluation, and commercial negotiation.
* Monitor budgets, ensuring value for money and accurate financial forecasting.
Stakeholder Engagement & Change Enablement
* Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.
* Work with operational and clinical teams to ensure technical solutions support workflow redesign and service transformation.
* Support training, communications, and adoption activities to ensure a smooth transition into business as usual.
Continuous Improvement & Innovation
* Drive optimisation of technical platforms post‑go‑live, identifying opportunities for automation, performance improvement, and enhanced user experience.
* Promote innovation, emerging technologies, and modern engineering practices across the organisation.
