Senior Adult Learning Tutor (Grade I) / Adult Learning Tutor (Grade H) | 10541 | Permanent Contract | 18.5 hours per week (0.5 FTE) | £37,280 to £39,152 per annum pro rata (Scale I) / £34,434 to £36,363 per annum pro rata (Scale H) | West Norfolk
We currently have a part‑time opportunity to teach English as a second language. We are looking for a qualified, skilled, self‑motivated, enthusiastic and highly organised individual to provide inspirational teaching to learners from other countries. There may be additional hours available to teach on the English Functional Skills curriculum.
You will be required to work closely as part of the Foundation Learning Skills curriculum team to deliver high‑quality ESOL classes to both Norfolk residents and new arrivals, some of whom are pre‑literate.
You will be dedicated to improving life outcomes for post‑19 learners and will deliver a variety of accreditation to move people into secure employment, reduce load on public services and help families support their children through school.
You Should Be Able To Demonstrate The Following Skills
* A learner centred, active approach, along with an appreciation of the added benefits of virtual learning.
* Excellent ICT skills, including Excel, Word, Microsoft Teams, web‑based learning programmes and ability to learn web‑based learning programmes.
* Able to communicate clearly and effectively through a range of mediums.
* Exceptional organisational skills, including an ability to work to tight deadlines.
* A minimum CELTA or TESOL qualification with English and maths qualifications at Level 2.
* Work well within a virtual team environment and be able to independently manage teaching responsibilities.
* Awareness of data protection, safeguarding, Prevent and information management.
You will be part of a well‑established, supportive team and training will be provided. The pay scale of the role is determined by qualifications and if you do not hold a level 4 generic teaching qualification, there is an expectation to work towards this.
