Overview
Build Technician (H/F) - SAFRAN SEATS GB LIMITED at AEROCONTACT. Safran Seats is a leading global manufacturer of aircraft seats, focused on First Class and Business Class seating for wide body aircraft.
Purpose: This role aims to reduce and eliminate manufacturing process variability and to provide technical support to operations in assembly, overseeing product launches into the manufacturing cell.
Responsibilities
* Assemble sub-assemblies to design data in compliance with production operating standards and engineering drawings.
* Support operational targets and KPIs; assist production in a mechanical field requiring skilled intervention to maintain high quality standards.
* Promote best working practices across production areas; support and assist production Operator training in proven Assembly / Process techniques.
* Inspect and verify build process of mechanical assemblies and all supporting documentation.
* Perform minor rework operations within procedure; use and control on-line tool jigs and fixtures.
* Make production and assembly aids including jigs and fixtures.
* Understand impact of process and product viability of both purchased and manufactured components during fitment on line.
* Collaborate on launching products into production and support Production Operators with technical processes and quality issues.
* Mentor and train colleagues in working practices; implement 5S standards; participate in team continuous improvement activities; support the development of best working practices within the Assembly Plant.
* Support Engineers in problem solving activities as and when required.
Qualifications
* Excellent Engineering Mathematics Skills.
* Mechanical NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent); working towards Mechanical Engineering BTEC is acceptable.
* Previous assembly manufacturing experience in product development and continuous improvement environments.
* Ability to apply problem solving techniques (A3, 8D, 4D, QRQC) and a good understanding of engineering science and principles.
* Ability to read and follow engineering drawings; strong manual dexterity with tool skills.
* Willingness to support and assist in Operator training; understanding of on-line process control and quality standards.
