About the Role We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager to provide senior leadership across an allocated portfolio of care homes. This role is responsible for driving high standards of care while delivering strong operational and commercial performance through our Home Managers. As Operations Manager, you will travel across your portfolio of homes to provide visible leadership, operational oversight and hands-on support where required. You will work closely with Care Home Managers and Deputy Managers to develop and deliver robust action plans that ensure residents receive safe, high-quality, person-centred care, while maintaining safe, sustainable staffing models and delivering budgeted financial performance. You will provide both support and constructive challenge, intervening directly where there are risks to quality, compliance, safety or financial and operational performance, and taking decisive action to stabilise services when required. You will also play a key role in supporting homes requiring improvement where required, alongside leading performance and continuous improvement across your wider portfolio. This may include supporting the stabilisation of staffing, reducing agency reliance, improving regulatory outcomes and restoring commercial performance. You will be supported by experienced central functions, including Operations Support, HR and Finance teams. You will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to service improvement priorities and wider operational strategy. This is a permanent role requiring regular travel. Ensure homes are inspection-ready at all times, providing hands-on leadership and oversight during periods of regulatory scrutiny, improvement activity or transition. Lead homes through periods of challenge, improvement or turnaround, with accountability for improving quality, stabilising workforce and restoring financial performance. Work alongside Home Managers and Deputy Managers to develop, implement and monitor action plans that improve care quality, compliance and outcomes. Lead on quality and performance assurance, identifying concerns through audits, complaints, incidents or accidents and driving timely improvement. Support and oversee clinical standards, working collaboratively with internal teams and external healthcare professionals. Investigate and respond to formal complaints, ensuring learning is embedded and concerns are resolved appropriately. Deliver financial performance across your portfolio, including budget delivery, cost control, agency management and support of occupancy growth. Support occupancy growth through effective enquiry management and positive promotion of homes within their local communities. Build a culture of strong performance management and continuous improvement, supporting recruitment, development and performance management of colleagues. Ensure compliance with regulatory, statutory and health & safety requirements, including fire safety, COSHH and wider governance standards.
