We\'re on the hunt for genuinely caring, hands-on Female Support Workers with a passion for enhancing the quality of life of the people we support. As a Support Worker you\'ll help people gain more independence in daily life, while working within a dynamic team to support a fantastic group of people. Our residential service in Langport looks out over the Somerset Levels. This family‑orientated, beautiful old house has a warm and welcoming feel. We enable individuals with learning disabilities, autism, epilepsy and complex care needs including visual impairments. No two days will be the same, as you help enhance lives by assisting with personal care, encouraging community access (including local pubs and shops) and taking part in a variety of activities. This is an amazing role for someone who wants to make a real difference and help people grow in confidence and independence to achieve their goals, whether that means cooking dinner independently or going on holiday.
Responsibilities
* Assist with personal care and daily living activities to promote independence.
* Support individuals to access their local community, including shops and social activities.
* Engage with people in a range of activities to boost confidence and well‑being.
* Encourage goal setting and development of practical skills, such as preparing meals or arranging activities.
* Work as part of a supportive team in a residential service environment in Langport.
Requirements and Qualifications
* Ideally hold a full UK driving licence; be resilient, flexible and composed in your approach.
* Experience with following Positive Behaviour Support plans and reflective practice.
* Experience working with individuals requiring enhanced support, including behaviours of distress, mental health conditions, autism and people who have experienced trauma.
* All applicants will be subject to satisfactory DBS checks and references.
* Note: Some roles may require female employees only, in accordance with the Equality Act 2010 where this is a genuine occupational requirement.
Salary, shifts and benefits
* Female Support Worker - Langport - £13.06 per hour. Typical shifts are 08:00 – 20:30, 3 shifts per week, including alternate weekends.
