Down A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a talented and experienced Senior MEP Estimator to join a leading organisation specialising in decarbonisation and sustainable building services solutions. This is a key role within a growing commercial team, supporting the delivery of large-scale projects across the industrial, commercial, education, healthcare, and public sectors throughout the UK and Ireland. About the Role As Senior MEP Estimator, you'll play a central part in developing accurate, detailed costings for turnkey decarbonisation and energy-efficiency projects, including district heating systems, heat pump installations, and energy centre developments. You'll work closely with design, preconstruction, and commercial teams to ensure accurate tenders, competitive supplier engagement, and seamless handover into project delivery. Key Responsibilities Review project documentation and collaborate with preconstruction, estimating, and senior management to define estimating strategy and approach. Produce accurate take-offs and detailed cost breakdowns using mechanical estimating software and internal templates. Assess labour, material, and plant costs to compile competitive estimates for a wide range of MEP and decarbonisation projects. Develop enquiry packages for suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring clear scopes of work and comprehensive pricing comparisons. Lead commercial evaluations of plant and equipment options, preparing summaries and budget notes for management review. Utilise advanced Excel and data analysis skills to prepare detailed Bills of Quantities (BOQs), pricing schedules, and client proposals. Attend site visits and client meetings as required to ensure technical and commercial alignment. Support project handover and post-award reviews, ensuring continuity between estimating and delivery teams. About You Essential Criteria: Third-level qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or Cost Engineering, or equivalent experience. Minimum 5 years' experience in a mechanical estimating role, with exposure to projects from concept through to full tender stage. Strong understanding of MEP systems, decarbonisation technologies, and energy-efficient building solutions. Proven ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and schematics. Confident communicator with experience engaging suppliers, clients, and internal teams. Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
