* Working towards BRC standards and retailer requirements. Ensuring that working practices comply with codes of practices and non conformances raised
* Promote positive food safety culture within the factory
* Organise and run daily taste panels uploading the results and investigating and issues that arise.
* Update technical tracker. Communicate issues to colleagues
* Conduct internal audits & follow up to ensure any non-compliance is effectively closed out in a timely manner.
* Complete traceability exercises as routinely required or through an audit
* Spot check production documentation and re-train colleagues who have made errors
* Conduct raw material intake checks and inspections. Ensuring certificate of analysis/conformance are received and checked
* As an operational member of the Technical Team, you will be predominantly factory floor based whilst maintaining an awareness and understanding of technical procedures.
* Collecting micro samples. Ensuring micro /chemical schedule is adhered to.
* Investigate customer complaints as instructed by senior management.
* Authorising concessions.
* Maintain pest control file and attend pest control visits.
* Maintain and ensure calibration is up to date.
* Ensure productions is of a high quality and safe at all times.
* Being first line contact and decision making for QC and production teams, escalating where applicable.
* Act as safety representative.
* Support H&S initiatives by liaising with H&S Consultant and Staff.
* Fully understand QAS and the operation of the process control Systems
* Ensure clean as you go practices and GMP practices are being adhered to
* Audit areas to ensure high hygiene standards
