Overview

Location: Haydock • Working hours: Mon - Fri 07:30 - 17:00. Hire Desk Manager role at Speedy Hire in Haydock. Speedy are the UK’s leading hire provider with the widest range of tools, specialist hire equipment, plant and support services – everything for every job!


Responsibilities

* Provide strong leadership to Managers and direct employees, ensuring all aspects of performance and processes align with budgeted targets and expectations.
* Lead, mentor, and motivate your team to deliver outstanding customer service.
* Oversee the daily operations of the hire desk, ensuring a seamless process for our customers.
* Provide accurate reporting and information within agreed timeframes and deadlines for the General Manager.
* Achieve targets on reducing customer complaint levels and improving speed of resolution.
* Drive team performance, ensuring KPIs are met and service levels remain high.
* Build strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders.
* Identify and implement process improvements to enhance service and efficiency.
* Support and contribute to our ESG Strategy – Decade to Deliver.


Essential Skills

* Proven ability to lead, influence, and motivate a team, securing buy-in from stakeholders.
* Strong coaching and development skills to enhance team performance.
* Previous management experience in a similar role.
* A customer-focused mindset with a track record of delivering high-quality service.
* Excellent relationship-building skills, both internally and externally.
* Strong IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, etc.).
* Adaptability and flexibility in a fast-paced environment.


Desirable Skills

* Experience within the hire industry.
* A track record of improving departmental results and performance.
