Job Title: After School Club Assistant
Location: Slough, Berkshire
Position: Part-time (typically 3:15 PM – 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday, term time only)
Reports to: Club Manager / School Business Manager / Headteacher
Job Summary:
We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic After School Club Assistant with experience as a Teaching Assistant to support our primary school’s wraparound care provision in Slough. The successful candidate will help provide a safe, stimulating, and enjoyable environment for children aged 4–11 after the school day ends.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise and engage children in fun, age-appropriate activities including games, crafts, sports, and quiet time.
* Support the emotional and social development of pupils in a relaxed and nurturing after-school setting.
* Ensure the safety, wellbeing, and good behaviour of all children at all times.
* Assist in setting up and tidying away resources, equipment, and refreshments.
* Encourage positive interactions and inclusive play among pupils of all abilities.
* Work closely with the Club Manager and school staff to maintain high standards of care.
* Communicate effectively with parents and carers during pick-up times, sharing relevant updates as needed.
* Follow all safeguarding, health and safety, and school policies and procedures.
Requirements:
* Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a childcare setting (essential).
* A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their development.
* Good communication and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to work as part of a team and show initiative when needed.
* Basic understanding of safeguarding and first aid (training can be provided).
* Reliability, punctuality, and a calm, positive attitude.
* NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare, TA qualification, or equivalent (desirable but not essential).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
