To deliver those services takes an enthusiastic and customer focused team – and we are looking to recruit a part time Duty Officer to join our team.
In the role of the Duty Officer, you will manage all aspects of the facility through the hours of operation, ensuring all activities are delivered to a high standard with safety and customer service as a high priority.
The role involves a high level of customer interaction with sport governing bodies, commercial and corporate organisations; deployment and supervision of the operational team; maintaining critical operational cover across the site; and managing cash handling processes.
Additional responsibilities include assisting the line manager or leading contractual compliance documents and practices, taking charge and responding to emergency situations, ensuring the smooth running of all site operations.
You will help facilitate a safe, fun, and professional working environment with excellent training and development opportunities, and a free membership to our leisure centres. Serco manages these facilities on a day‑to‑day basis on behalf of the Trust.
Location & Working Hours
Location: Quarry Leisure Centre, Shrewsbury SY1 1RU
Contract type: Permanent, Part time
Working hours: 17 hours per week covering a mixture of early, late and one weekend in three shifts
Salary: £13.77 per hour + Excellent benefits
About You
* Passionate and enthusiastic, pride in giving the best service possible to members and customers.
* Prior experience and confidence in leading a team by example and working face‑to‑face with customers, preferably in the leisure industry.
* Desirable to hold National Pool Lifeguard qualification and first aid; training will be provided for the right candidate.
