This post holder will provide a specialist service within Community Eating Disorders Service, CAMHS to young people and their families. This is a community-based post, located within the countywide
Community Eating Disorders Service (CEDS) Bedfordshire and Luton CAMHS offering flexible,
evidence-based episodes of care, assessments and treatments to all eating disorders presentations and co-morbidities.
Main duties of the job
·To provide care to children and families affected by eating disorders, as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
·To provide effective leadership, expertise, advice and support to the service and ensure the provision of high quality care to children and families
·To act as a role model and highly competent practitioner
·To act as a designated resource to children and families, and other professionals caring for them
·To facilitate the development of the eating disorders service, as part of a multidisciplinary team
·To promote an innovative and progressive attitude to the continual improvement of patient care through research and evidence based practice

Qualifications
Essential criteria
1. A qualification in Nursing (mental health or paediatric)
Desirable criteria
2. Experience working with presentation of an eating disorder
Experience
Essential criteria
3. Experience of specialist assessment and treatment with children, young people and their families presenting high levels of complexity and difficulty, specifically including those with eating disorders.
4. Experience of providing evidence based interventions for children and young people with eating disorders, disordered eating behaviour and associated co-morbidities.
5. Proven capacity in working in multi-disciplinary, multi-agency, multi-cultural context with varying theoretical perspectives.
6. Experience of providing line management and clinical supervision

7. Experience of working with a wide range of CAMHS problems evious experience of working in CAMHS
8. Previous experience of working in CAMHS
Skills
Essential criteria
9. Evidence of well developed clinical skills and knowledge in CAMHS
10. Specialist clinical assessment and treatment skills including emergency and crisis assessments.
11. Able to manage own time and caseload
12. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Knowledge
Essential criteria
13. A high degree of self-awareness and an ability to reflect on personal and professional attitudes and accept feedback
14. Awareness of current national guidelines and policies in the field of CAMHS
15. Specific knowledge of pertinent issues for CAMHS
16. In depth knowledge of CAMHS issues including assessment and interventions
