We are constructing a state-of-the-art underground mine to enable the extraction of Polyhalite – a unique multi-nutrient fertiliser – along with the necessary infrastructure both above and below ground that will be required for transport, processing, and distribution.
POLY4 is our flagship multi-nutrient fertiliser product. Made from polyhalite, it contains four of the six macro-nutrients that are essential to plant growth. It allows farmers to maximise their crop yield, increase quality and improve soil structure with one simple product.
Job Description
Central to the Occupational Health Departments Emergency response the Trauma and Emergency Coordinator is responsible for the development and implementation of the strategy in accordance with AA Trauma and Emergency Care Standards. A successful candidate will develop the emergency response team and associated policies, procedures, technical and facilities upgrades to ensure alignment with the AA requirements and Crop Nutrients Occupational Health Department and Business needs.
Your duties will include:
* Make a positive contribution to Anglo American Woodsmith Occupational Health Departments vision andstrategic objectives.
* Conduct a risk assessment/identification of PUE
* Stakeholder engagement with external and internal partners.
* Liaise with Primary care facilities, Occupational Health Physician and Occupational Health Manager etc.
* Work directly with external consultants when triage and organizing transport of the casualty to hospital.
* Provide resources and signposts to further assistance to employees who have experienced a trauma or traumatic event.
* Provide leadership to the Mine medics team, promote the highest clinical standards in the management of injuries.
* Develop Mass Casualty Management Plan for all sites
* Develop Medical Emergency Response Plan and audit same
* Liaise with the Occupational Health Administrator to ensure stocks/medicines/gas etc. are in stock
* Identify barriers and provide remedial actions escalating to the Occupational Health Manager
* Maintain proper treatment records.
* Develop reports, identify any trends and provide continual improvement within the processes.
* Recognize the signs of deterioration in unstable patients.
* Give first aid, CPR, or emergency medical care as needed.
* Participate in the teaching and clinical supervision of the Advanced First Aiders and Mine Medics Team.
* Develop and conduct scenario-based training for the team and evaluate and report on same.
* Provide inputs into Occupational Health program design, implementation, and evaluation.
* Enhance and further develop Clinical Governance and audit capacity.
* Develop an audit strategy. Participate in audits action any improvements.
* Maintain proper treatment records.
* Ensure compliance with GDPR
* Ensure legal compliance.
Qualifications
* Registered General Nurse/Paramedic
* Advanced First Aid Instructor
* Post Graduate qualification/study in Occupational Health and Safety preferrable
* Evidence of experience working within a trauma environment
* Experienced working in a mining environment essential
* Working knowledge of MS Office suite
