About the Role
We wish to appoint a Special Education Needs Learning Support Assistant (SEND LSA) to start September 2024 on a part-time basis working 32.5 hours per week term time only plus 5 INSET days. The role is offered on fixed term of 12 months with a view to extend. The Learning Support Assistant role is vital to the school and involves supporting children with a variety of needs including Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCP’s). We are particularly interested in speaking to individuals who have a background in Speech and Language, ADHD, ACMH and Autism.
Successful candidates should have:
1. Experience of working with and caring for children
2. Experience of working with children with special educational needs.
3. High expectations of students in terms of learning, achievement and behaviour
4. Enthusiasm and dedication to developing innovative approaches to learning, teaching, mentoring and guidance
5. A commitment to promoting and fostering good relationships between children and with parents and colleagues
You should:
6. Have excellent communication skills
7. Have the ability to build effective relationships with students, parents and other staff
8. The ability to relate in a firm and friendly way with a wide range of personalities
9. The ability to use initiative
10. Be willing to undertake direction and guidance
11. Have a good understanding of behaviour management strategies
12. Be able to work as part of a team
