FP&A Accountant/Manager – 12 Month Contract
Edinburgh | £70,000–£80,000 + Benefits | Hybrid / Remote Options
Robert Half is proud to be supporting a dynamic, forward‑thinking organisation in Edinburgh as it enters a pivotal phase of growth and transformation. To strengthen its financial planning capability and support this next chapter, the business is seeking an FP&A Manager who wants to make a real, measurable impact from day one.
If you thrive on shaping new ways of working, influencing strategic decisions, and building high‑quality insight in a fast‑evolving environment, this contract offers the perfect opportunity to take ownership and lead change.
Why This Role Matters
This is not a back‑office reporting role — it’s a hands-on, high‑visibility FP&A position where you will act as the strategic financial partner to a key business unit. You’ll build models, challenge assumptions, create clarity, and shape decisions that will influence the organisation long after your contract ends.
Key Responsibilities
In this impactful, forward‑facing role, you will:
Drive Performance & Planning
* Lead the full budgeting, forecasting, and long‑range planning process, delivering high‑quality outputs that support strategic decision making.
* Produce insightful, timely management reporting — bringing the “story behind the numbers” to life for senior leadership.
Provide Strategic Insight
* Own weekly cashflow forecasts, conduct deep‑dive variance analysis, and highlight risks, opportunities, and trends.
* Partner with operational teams to challenge costs, track performance, and support delivery of efficiency improvements.
Enable Growth & Transformation
* Support major projects and business cases with robust modelling and commercial recommendations.
* Improve financial processes, strengthen controls, and introduce automation and continuous‑improvement initiatives where possible.
About You
You’ll excel in this role if you are a proactive, analytical, and commercially‑minded FP&A professional who enjoys working in a changing environment. You will bring:
* Proven FP&A experience with responsibility for outputs, insights, and stakeholder engagement.
* Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills, including building models from scratch.
* Strong analytical judgement with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insight.
* Excellent communication skills, capable of influencing and guiding non‑finance stakeholders.
* Adaptability and resilience in fast‑moving or ambiguous environments.
* Preferred: Professional qualification (ICAS, ACCA, CIMA) and manufacturing sector experience.
What’s On Offer
This is an outstanding opportunity to step into a high‑impact role where your insight will directly shape performance and the future finance model. You will benefit from:
* A varied and influential role with exposure to senior leadership and strategic projects
* Genuine autonomy to improve processes and drive value
* Hybrid or remote flexibility
* Competitive salary: £70,000 – £80,000 + benefits
* The chance to leave a lasting legacy during an exciting period of change
