What is the job role?

An exciting opportunity to join Coventry City Council has arisen for a Social Work Team Leader, in Adults with physical disabilities and also in the specific area of adults with Learning Disabilities

We are looking for a dynamic, passionate and inclusive leader who values diversity and promotes a culture of respect, collaboration and continuous improvement. We would welcome those willing to contribute to creating an environment where every individual feels valued and supported.

Whilst the Learning Disabilities team will be your host team and the area where you will work predominantly, we encourage flexibility across the service to support staff development, and you may have opportunities to work across disciplines. This approach not only supports service delivery and helps us meet the needs of our residents, but also plays an important role in developing our staff giving you the chance to broaden your skills, experience different areas of practice, and grow within the service.

Our families and children from Coventry come from a variety of backgrounds and to deliver the best possible service it is vital that we have a workforce that represents and understands their unique experiences and perspectives.

This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

All candidates must have the Right to Work in the UK. We are currently not offering sponsorship for this role.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who is up for the challenge, who is compassionate but confident, can work under pressure and motivate and encourage your team on this journey.

Ideally, you will be able to demonstrate experience of working with people in all settings, including those on a transitions pathway from Children's service to Adults or those clients who S entitled.

You will be committed and passionate about practice, sharing learning and knowledge and developing others. You will have a solid understanding of and be an advocate for the principles of diversity and inclusion in relation to workplace culture and service delivery.

You must be able to lead by example and be flexible and adaptable in your approach.

You will be supported and work collaboratively with key stakeholders. Development and exposure, and the opportunity to leave a legacy will be paramount in this new and exciting provision.
