The Role
We are seeking a Senior Laboratory Technician to join our team in Chatteris. In this role, you'll be analysing a wide array of finished food products and their ingredients using advanced analytical techniques. You will play a key role in maintaining laboratory standards, ensuring accurate sample preparation, and supporting high-quality scientific testing in a safe and compliant environment. We are looking for someone with exceptional attention to detail who thrives on following processes with precision.
The day to day
* Maintain clean, organized workstations and follow hygiene/PPE protocols.
* Perform daily equipment checks and calibrations (balances, pipettes, pH meters, fridges, incubators).
* Prepare and handle samples safely, ensuring accuracy and avoiding cross-contamination.
* Inspect and manage glassware and reagents, adhering to safety and storage guidelines.
* Operate and maintain laboratory equipment in line with procedures.
* Record and submit laboratory data accurately in LIMS and other tracking systems.
Essentials
* Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.
* Knowledge of laboratory safety, health, and quality standards.
* Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
* Good organizational, time-management, and analytical skills.
