Situated within the School of Health, Education, Policing & Sciences at University of Staffordshire, the Nursing and Midwifery Department offers a diverse portfolio of undergraduate, postgraduate and apprenticeship programmes. We have a vacancy for a Course Director within the department to lead, develop and expand our portfolio and further enhance the quality of student experience. For this role, you must hold current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (Nurse or Midwife).
Main Responsibilities
As Course Director, you will be responsible for the strategic leadership, coordination, and continuous improvement of a suite of courses and modules. Currently, the focus for this role is BSc Mental Health Nursing and MSc Adult and Mental Health Nursing provision however, the portfolio overseen by individual Course Directors is open to change in response to service need. You will play a central role in our current curriculum re-development, ensuring that our programmes remain evidence-based, contemporary, and aligned with professional and regulatory body standards. Working closely with academic colleagues, professional bodies, and industry stakeholders, you will shape the curriculum to meet employer needs and provide high-quality education and training that supports student success and positive graduate outcomes.
In addition to developing and delivering engaging teaching and learning, you will contribute to the School's research and enterprise goals and have opportunities to develop your own academic profile. We particularly welcome applications from candidates with research experience in nursing or health related topics, who can contribute to the University's research agenda.
Qualifications
* Professional experience in nursing or midwifery practice.
* A good understanding of Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Body standards.
* Experience in Higher Education teaching and course leadership.
* Experience in research and academic publishing.
