An exciting 1 year Fixed Term/Secondment opportunity has arisen for an HPV IT Support officer to work within within the Pathology IT Team supporting the North East and Yorkshire Cervical Screening Service.
We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic individual to support the North East and Yorkshire Cervical Screening Service on a day to day basis, the role covers ICE system testing, user training and support, system development and day to day system maintenance.

The successful candidate will be educated to a degree level or have the equivalent experience and have working knowledge of Microsoft Windows packages and an understanding of the Core Trust Systems.
A flexible approach to working arrangements is essential to meet service needs, which may include working evenings, early mornings and weekend if the project requires.

Job responsibilities
Main purpose of the Job
To provide first- and second-line desktop support services to users of information technology across the department, Trust, external sites and supported third party organisations. Provide advice and guidance to service users regarding a selection of appropriate hardware and software, including, but not limited to, Laboratory Information System, desktops, laptops, iOS devices, printers and scanners.
This role combines technical expertise, user support, and system management to provide high quality, comprehensive day to day administration to the NHSCSP ICE Desktop Order Communications system. Acts as the single point of contact for enquiries from end users. Maintains the user accounts on the system and provision of training to end users when required. Assists in the continued development of the Order Communications solution provided to end users
* To maintain user accounts and access rights to the NEYCSP ICE Desktop Order Communications system.
* To maintain test and location library within ICE Desktop to ensure parity with the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS)
* To manage merge maintenance of records on the ICE Desktop solution
* Deliver ICE Desktop system training and Junior doctor induction sessions or to individual users when required
* Prepare and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the use of the ICE Desktop solution in line with the standards of the service
* Plan and deploy the use of the ICE Desktop solution across all NEYCSP service users
* The post holder will be involved in the testing of software release patches in a test environment to check for suitability prior to application to live systems and their deployment
* Primary contact for telephone and general enquiries relating to the NEYCSP ICE Desktop solution
* There is a requirement of this post to work offsite occasionally at GP surgeries or other Trusts and there may be a requirement to travel to various sites within the Northern region including Sheffield, Leeds, York and the North East. This also includes periods of work relating to training or system testing where travel to other parts of the UK may be necessary
Person Specification
Education
* Educated to degree level or equivalent
* ITIL Foundation Certification
* Certification from Microsoft or similar
Experience
* Detailed working Systems such as ICE, Careflow, EMIS or Nervecentre.
* Experience of delivering system training to groups and/or individuals.
* Relevant experience in an administrative or IT operational role.
* Experience of working in a helpdesk environment, supporting system users by telephone, electronically and in person.
* Use of helpdesk software systems Experience of providing IT Support in an NHS environment
* Experience of supporting iOS devices in a corporate environment
Skills
* Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational and presentation skills
* Effective communication with all levels of users
* Able to work with support staff from third party organisations
* Ability to build relationships and understanding with frontline staff, in order to properly troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.

Knowledge
* Excellent in depth knowledge of PC hardware, Microsoft Active Directory and current PC operating systems and software packages is essential.
* General understanding of IT / IG guidance/regulations that apply to the NHS, including Freedom of Information Act 2000, Data Protection Act 1998, Caldicott Guidelines and Data Accreditation Standard
* Knowledge of system administration procedures, such as user set-up, password administration, setting of parameters, system security etc.
* Excellent knowledge of PC peripherals, including installation, support and troubleshooting
* Familiarity with NHS IT Strategy
