Personally give care to individuals, under the guidance of the team leader, based on agreed Policies, Guidelines and Standard Operating Procedures, adhering to the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority Code of Practice. Assist with the clinical management of the department, maintaining high standards of nursing practice and promoting the philosophy of patient centred care. Ensuring effective communication is maintained at all times. Manage time and resources efficiently, achieving good communication. Use every reasonable opportunity to maintain and develop your knowledge and competence of Fertility nursing. Give support and guidance to untrained staff working in the ward / department Provide care for pre and post operative patients having oocyte collections or embryo transfers under sedation Participate and contribute to the setting and auditing of research based practice to develop new Guidelines and Policies as necessary. Maintain accurate and legible records ensuring patient care is a current reflection of treatment and advice. Participate in the development of good working relationships within the team and ward/department area. When undertaking the role of a link nurse ensure all meetings are attended and actions given are implemented within your remit. When required, and as part of self development, take charge of the ward / department Be responsible for maintaining NMC registration and conforming to all relevant NMC Codes of Practice and Advisory Papers. The post holder maybe required to work within any of the satellite or transport centres as required
