Overview
We are looking for a Senior Carer to join the Additional Learning Support team, providing a wide range of programmes for students with learning difficulties and/or disabilities. The role is based at our Watford campus.
As a key part of this specialist team, the successful candidate will help to support the delivery of outstanding personalised learning opportunities and assist learners to experience all aspects of college life.
Responsibilities
* Support the delivery of personalised learning opportunities for students with diverse special learning needs.
* Provide personal care support (including hoisting) and feeding support, including for learners with feeding tubes, as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Administer medications where required, including Buccal Midazolam and epilepsy medicines, in accordance with local policies and training.
* Maintain high standards of communication and interpersonal skills when working with students and the teaching team.
* Work flexibly as part of a team to remove potential barriers and support the learner assessment process.
Qualifications
* Qualified and experienced First Aider with substantial care training, including hoisting and personal care support.
* Experience of working with students who have diverse learning needs.
* Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with staff and learners.
Requirements
* Based at Watford campus with a commitment to upholding safeguarding and health & safety standards.
* Flexible team player with a proactive approach to removing barriers to learning.
