About the Job
As a Fitness Manager at Lampton Leisure, you will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the fitness department and team, ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and high-quality customer experience. You will also conduct at least two duty manager shifts per week. Additionally, you will proactively manage team performance, set targets, and provide constructive feedback to support the team in maintaining high standards.
You will serve as a key holder for the building, responsible for opening and closing the site during your shifts. Our sites operate from 6am to 10pm, so flexibility with working hours is essential.
Key Responsibilities
* Ensure the delivery of an exceptional fitness experience for members, bringing fitness equipment to life and ensuring the team has the right expertise
* Perform Duty Manager duties, including opening and closing the site, handling H&S incidents, safeguarding concerns, and conducting pool hygiene and safety checks during shifts
* Establish and maintain excellent relationships with customers, handling and escalating complaints appropriately
* Continuously review and improve fitness equipment, programmes, and activities
* Manage the fitness budget, stock takes, and inventories
* Support the centre in achieving targets and KPIs
* Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures, addressing issues promptly
* Line manage, coach, and develop the fitness team, keeping them updated on industry developments and promoting active, healthy lifestyles
Experience and Qualifications Required
* Previous experience as a Fitness Manager
* Minimum Level 2 fitness qualification or equivalent
* Ability to work towards or hold a First Aid at Work Qualification
* Ability to work towards or hold a National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ)
* Target-driven, proactive, and able to meet deadlines
* Strong mentoring, motivation, coaching, and development skills
* Excellent communication skills and experience in delivering first-class customer service
