Role Overview
We are looking for a friendly, reliable, and detail-oriented Optical Assistant to join our growing team. This is a varied and rewarding role, ideal for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a close-knit environment, and is passionate about providing exceptional customer service.
You will work across both of our practices, supporting the team in delivering top-quality optical services and ensuring every patient receives a positive experience from start to finish.
Key Responsibilities
* Greeting patients and providing a warm, professional welcome
* Booking and managing appointments
* Assisting with frame selection and offering honest, informed advice
* Adjusting and fitting spectacles to ensure comfort and satisfaction
* Handling basic optical queries and supporting the optometrist as needed
* Managing stock and helping maintain a tidy and inviting practice environment
* Processing payments and handling basic administrative tasks
About You
* Previous experience as an optical assistant is desirable but not essential – full training can be provided
* You have strong interpersonal and communication skills
* You're comfortable using computers and learning new systems
* You're organised, dependable, and enjoy working as part of a team
* You're able to travel between both Acle and Martham locations
