·The key role of the post is to facilitate the timely investigation and production of the associated reports including patient safety incidents and complaints response. This requires supporting staff from all different departments and seniority who are nominated to investigate, produce the investigation reports, and maintain compliance with CQC regulation 20 regarding duty of candour.
·The post holder will work with the Care Group regarding assurance arrangements to evidence compliance with the Patient Safety Incident Response Framework and the Patient Safety Incident Response Plan (PSIRP), CQC registration requirements for Paediatrics and ICB quality requirements regarding Children and Young People to ensure continual review, escalation of related risks at point of emergence.
Main duties of the job
1. Support and manage clinical governance arrangements for the paediatrics within the care group taking the lead for monitoring incoming reported patient safety incidents for escalation and production of associated reports.
2. The post holder will ensure thematic review of patient safety incidents, patient feedback through complaints and PALS contacts are captured, analyse and quality improvement developed in collaboration with the Care Group Director of Nursing specifically for the Paediatric SDU
3. As part of the clinical governance team, work collaboratively to ensure systems and records are in place and up to date.
4. You will be supporting the Paediatric and Neonatal SDU to embed an open and transparent culture and governance framework that facilitates the delivery of safe, high-quality care

EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS & TRAINING
Essential criteria
15. Post graduate diploma level knowledge and degree related to healthcare management or relevant demonstrable experience.
16. Previous clinical governance, quality improvement or patient safety coordinator/facilitator experience at band 5 or above or equivalent experience
17. Excel and power-point skills and information analysis
18. Knowledge of clinical audit processes, methodologies, project management acquired through training, experience to degree level equivalent.
19. Strong planning and organisational skills
20. Management and clinical qualification would be desirable.
EXPERIENCE
