Job Title: Hourly Paid Teacher in Maths
As an Hourly Paid Teacher in Maths, you'll have the opportunity to inspire and support learners to reach their full potential, helping them gain vital skills that will prepare them for further study, employment, and life beyond the classroom. You'll play a pivotal role in supporting the development of the Maths curriculum across the College.
About the Role
* Plan and deliver engaging teaching and learning activities tailored to the needs of individual learners.
* Provide timely assessment, constructive feedback, and maintain accurate learner records.
* Record and monitor learner progress through individual learning plans and effective course management.
* Contribute to curriculum development, creating and sharing innovative teaching resources.
* Take part in quality assurance processes across the College.
* Actively promote the College's programmes at open evenings, careers events, and other external activities.
* Keep up to date with subject knowledge and professional practice.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure learners succeed.
Essential Qualifications
* Education to Level 3 or above and/or a professional qualification in a relevant subject area (or equivalent).
* Minimum Level 2 qualification in English and Maths (GCSE grade 4+/C or equivalent).
* Relevant teacher training qualification (or willingness to achieve within 3 years of appointment).
Essential Experience
* Experience of teaching Maths to Level 2.
* Experience of working with a wide range of learners at different levels.
* Understanding of educational issues relating to Maths and English development.
* Demonstrated ability to plan and deliver engaging, motivational lessons.
* Knowledge of e-learning tools to support teaching and learning.
Desirable Qualifications
* Additional subject specialisms or higher-level qualifications.
Desirable Experience
* Understanding of CPD issues linked to the national Maths and English agenda.
* Experience of contributing to curriculum development.
