Offer description

Make an impact where it matters most: the first 1001 days.

Hertfordshire’s Family Centre Service supports families from pregnancy through to age five - a window where high-quality early intervention changes futures. We’re looking for a dynamic, people-centred leader who’s passionate about giving babies, young children and their families the very best start in life.
Why this role matters
The first 1001 critical days (from conception to age two) lay the foundations for lifelong health, learning and well-being. As our Family Support & Perinatal Lead, you’ll be right at the heart of shaping support during this crucial stage — and beyond.

What You’ll Lead & Deliver
• Champion early intervention across perinatal and early years services, ensuring families get the right help at the right time.
• Lead and inspire a team of Family Support and Perinatal Practitioners (including Seniors) through strong supervision, case oversight and professional development.
• Drive high-quality practice across home visits, group delivery, targeted interventions and digital support.
• Oversee safeguarding excellence, acting as Designated Safeguarding Lead and embedding robust, family-focused processes.
• Shape multi-agency working, representing the service and strengthening partnerships with Health Visiting, Social Care and community partners.
• Ensure services reach those who need them most, including families who may be reluctant to engage.
• Monitor and achieve KPIs, supporting continuous improvement across your locality.

What Makes You Stand Out
• Strong experience in family support, perinatal work, Early Help and safeguarding.
• Confident leadership skills with experience developing and managing staff.
• Knowledgeable about the first 1001 critical days and committed to impactful early intervention.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and relationship-building abilities.
• Level 4 qualification (or willingness to work toward one).
• Driving licence and business use insurance.

Why Join Us?
You’ll be part of an inclusive, values-driven organisation committed to improving children’s life chances and empowering families. Your work will directly influence outcomes during the most important developmental stage of a child’s life.
This is a full-time role (37.5 hrs), Monday–Friday, with occasional evenings/Saturdays.

Applications are reviewed as they come in-apply today and become part of our amazing team!

Please note that we are unable to offer visa sponsorship and can only accept applications from individuals who already have the right to work in the UK.
