This is a senior, autonomous role leading the day-to-day financial activities and controls of the business. The Financial Controller will take ownership of reporting, compliance and performance insight, while managing and developing a small transactional finance team. The role is primarily based in West Yorkshire, with regular travel to an additional UK site. Key responsibilities include:Full ownership of month-end management accounts, ensuring accuracy, timeliness and adherence to group deadlinesPreparation of monthly P&L, balance sheet and cash flow reporting with detailed variance analysisSupporting with board and senior management reporting and performance commentaryDevelopment, documentation and embedding of robust financial policies, controls and proceduresLeading the annual budgeting and forecasting process, coordinating inputs and challenging assumptionsBusiness partnering with departmental heads to understand cost drivers and improve financial performanceOversight of cashflow forecasting, banking arrangements and payment approvals in line with authority matricesDay-to-day management of purchase ledger and sales ledger teams, including credit control and supplier paymentsReview and approval of new supplier and customer accounts and credit limitsLeading year-end audit and statutory processes, liaising with external auditors and tax advisersResponsibility for VAT, corporation tax, payroll liaison, and other UK statutory filingsCoaching and developing the finance team to improve capability, performance and workload managementCandidate profile:Professionally qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or equivalent senior experienceEssential experience in a manufacturingStrong track record of management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cashflow managementExperience coordinating audits and working with external advisers and stakeholdersConfident leader with a collaborative, coaching approach to team managementStrong systems and data skills, with advanced Excel capabilityHigh levels of integrity, attention to detail and ability to work to tight deadlinesPackage and working pattern:Salary: £50,000 - £60,000Office-based role in West Yorkshire with regular travel to a second UK siteIPS Finance has 45 years experience in the Yorkshire accountancy recruitment market.
