Location: Exeter Make a difference leading care services across the South West Helping Hands is one of the UK’s leading providers of home care, and we’re seeking an experienced Area Care Manager to lead multiple branches delivering visiting and live-in care across the South West. Role Overview Reporting to the Head of Operations, you will guide Branch Care Managers and their teams to deliver high-quality, compliant services across your area. You’ll manage operational performance, compliance, and workforce planning, covering a large geographical area including both Devon and Somerset. This is a field-based role, with regular travel between branches. Key Responsibilities Lead branch teams delivering both visiting and live-in care services Maintain compliance with CQC and internal quality standards Manage performance, growth, and risk within your area Support recruitment, induction, and development of branch teams Foster a positive, values-driven culture focused on quality and person-centred care Collaborate with central teams (HR, Finance, Quality, Training) Person Specification Proven leadership experience in a regulated sector (e.g., health, pharmacy, dentistry, care) Strong understanding of compliance frameworks (CQC) Excellent communication, planning, and organisational skills Commercially aware with experience managing performance Full UK driving licence and ability to travel frequently across your patch What We Offer Competitive salary £55,000 – £60,000 plus £5,500 car allowance and bonus scheme Field-based leadership role with genuine impact Supportive, purpose-driven organisation with clear progression routes Autonomy and support from the Head of Operations and central teams Apply Now If you are an experienced leader from a regulated background looking for your next challenge in the South West, we want to hear from you.
