Pro Resources is seeking an IT Technician for a client in Plymouth, IN. The IT technician plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and functionality of information technology systems. Job Description
The IT Technician will be responsible for:
* Hardware Management and Troubleshooting
o Installing and configuring computers, printers, scanners, phones, and other hardware components.
o Diagnosing issues with hardware and replacing faulty components.
o Ensuring that servers and workstations are functioning optimally.
o Managing inventory of IT equipment and overseeing hardware upgrades.
* Software Installation and Support
o Installing and updating operating systems and applications.
o Providing support for software issues, from compatibility problems to application errors.
o Ensuring the security and integrity of installed software.
o Training users on new software and recommending best practices.
* Technical Support
o Resolving user-related technical issues, either on-site or remotely.
o Managing and responding to help desk tickets and troubleshooting problems promptly.
o Educating users about technology tools and policies.
o Offering recommendations for improving IT system efficiency.
* System Administration
o Managing user accounts and passwords.
o Performing regular backups and ensuring data recovery processes are in place.
o Updating systems to protect against vulnerabilities and cyber threats.
o Documenting technical procedures and system configurations.
o Audit management
* Cybersecurity
o Implementing anti-virus and anti-malware solutions.
o Monitoring systems for suspicious activity and responding to security incidents.
o Ensuring compliance with organizational security policies.
o Educating users about safe computing practices.
o Incident Response: Investigating and responding to security breaches or malware attacks.
* Project Management
o Managing or participating in projects to support business initiatives at a local and global level where required.
o Collaborating with customers and other colleagues from the IT organization to design solutions.
o Managing project work with 3rd party consultants.
* Documentation
o Maintaining detailed documentation to ensure that processes, procedures, and resolutions are thoroughly recorded.
o Creating user guides, troubleshooting manuals, and documenting system changes to facilitate knowledge sharing and consistency.
o Asset Management and maintaining updated and correct asset information.
Background Profile
* Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related discipline
* Proficiency in operating system management, hardware troubleshooting, and networking.
* Experience with installing and supporting the Microsoft 365 Suite.
* Experience with IT ticket systems to manage incidents.
* Flexibility to work with diverse applications and respond to changing business needs.
* Project Work or Management Experience
